While many want to believe that Nutrisystem is the answer to a global battle with weight loss and the company themselves promote that they are an “effective, safe and customizable program” that will let you lose all the weight you want and still eat the foods you love. Come on, you know you’ve seen the commercials. You’ve been tempted to believe them, you may even be thinking about buying into it. Well, STOP, and read this before you pick up the phone and get out the checkbook.
There are a few things that Nutrisystem weight loss program will not tell you but really need to know. The food is horrendous. Yes, it simply tastes bad. Plus it doesn’t taste fresh. Well really, how can it taste fresh, it is processed packaged food. It can take weeks to make it to your house, and then you have to reheat it. Yes, sound yummy doesn’t it. The fact that Nutrisystem weight loss program doesn’t even attempt to make their food taste good or try to deliver fresh food can be a point of frustration to even the most dedicated person. It is hard to swallow food that even your dog won’t eat.
So unless the philosophy behind the Nutrisystem weight loss program is to make food your enemy so that the very thought of it makes you want to chew cardboard, then they have seriously failed on living up to the “food that you love.” Before we leave the issue of food, there is one more little tidbit that the folks behind the Nutrisystem weight loss program leave out, that their food is loaded with sodium. This is a piece of information that people need, especially those that suffer from heart problems and high blood pressure.
Ok, our next little problem that we will share with you but Nurtisystem won’t, they will not send you the food that you order. There is the old saying that has to do with being “trigger happy”. Well, Nutrisystem weight loss program is “substitute happy.” So, as if having poor taste wasn’t enough, consider the frustration from the diabetic that has certain dietary requirements, or the vegetarian that is getting meat ladened substitutes. They will do this without warning. So now they are failing in the customer service department as well.
While you don’t have to sign a contract with Nutrisystem weight loss program, they also fail to tell you that if you spent a little time and learned about the right foods to eat, you could go to the grocery store and buy the food for less, and have better quality food that taste better.
Wait, I am not done. The Nutrisystem weight loss program also does not offer you all the food you need to be eating. You are still told to go to the grocery store and buy fresh foods to supplement the program. Hello, if you are going to the store anyway, buy all your food there!
The worst little secret about the Nutrisystem weight loss program is the fact that it doesn’t teach you better eating habits. It doesn’t teach you anything. Getting healthy and losing weight requires a little education and some lifestyle changes. You would do better to find someone that will help teach you these things so that once you go off the program, you can continue to have a healthy life and maintain your new weight. Talk to your doctor, chances are he or she will recommend that you look into a program such as Medifast. You need education and fresh foods that taste good.
